Become a gardener
If you’re interested in learning to grow with us, fill out the online application or visit your local teaching garden between 9am and 1pm, every Wednesday and Saturday. Please note that proof of address will be required e.g. utility bill, rates bill.
There are 2 seasons each year: Oct 1st to 31st March and 1st April to 30th September.
All members of the local community are encouraged to apply, limit of 1 family per garden
Cost of the plot is $30 inc per season, and plots must be paid for before you begin.
Application is for one season only, after that you are encouraged to take your learning home and continue from there.
If your application is successful and a plot is available you will be able to start immediately, otherwise you will go onto a waiting list, and be advised as soon as a plot opens up.
Become a volunteer
Auckland Teaching Gardens is a registered charitable trust, and we are always looking for people to help out on all of our sites. We offer volunteers the flexibility to donate their time or efforts in meaningful ways, and where the results can be easily seen.
